US President Joe Biden insisted Thursday that Ukraine would one day join the NATO military alliance, but that it could not happen while Kyiv is still at war with Moscow.

“It’s not about whether or not they should or shouldn’t join. It’s about when they can join, and they will join NATO,” Biden told a press conference in Finland, a day after a NATO summit where members failed to give Ukraine a timeline for joining.
