BRICS leaders have agreed to expand the club of major emerging economies and adopted conditions for entry, South Africa’s foreign minister said on Wednesday as the five-nation bloc met in Johannesburg.
“We have a document that we have adopted that sets out guidelines and principles, processes, for considering countries that wish to become members of BRICS,” foreign minister Naledi Pandor said on state-run Ubuntu Radio, referring to the grouping of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
