Dollar surges against yen and euro on US-China tariff suspension

The dollar rallied more than one percent against the yen and euro on Monday after China and the United States slashed their tit-for-tat tariffs for a 90-day period, easing tensions between the economic superpowers.

The dollar rose 1.5 percent to 147.62 yen, while also advancing 1.2 percent to $1.1113 to the euro.
