Another key factor for choosing an electric car over conventional cars is the lack of noise. You know how loud it becomes when you press the accelerator first time. Especially in a quiet zone, it sounds more annoying.

Thankfully, propulsion noise from EVs is quieter than the petrol or diesel cars with internal combustion engines. The only noise you will get from tires and wind resistance while at a faster or higher speed.

Some Challenges With Electric Cars

Despite major benefits, there are some concerns and safety issues with electric cars.

  • The battery weight makes these cars heavier than conventional cars.

  • The charging infrastructure needs to be developed. Similar to gas stations, car charging stations are not easily available in public places.
  • Lack of charging point compatibility.
  • Further, while normal cars take 5 minutes to refuel the tank, EVs take a lot of time to charge (sometimes overnight).
  • Power generation capacity in the electric grids needs to be increased.
  • There is a limited choice of e-cars in some countries.
  • The pricing scheme of EV charging is not clear yet.

The automobile industry is developing electric vehicles in many ways. From improving the power grids to adopting the latest battery technology, they are considering every issue users are facing.
