Dozens are feared dead and at least 132 people injured in a train accident in eastern India’s Odisha state, local media and officials said Friday.

Several carriages of a passenger train derailed in Balasore, about 200 kilometres (125 miles) from the state capital Bhubaneswar, after a collision with a freight train, officials and reports said.

The Press Trust of India of India reported that around 50 people were “feared dead,” citing unnamed officials. Many passengers were believed to be trapped under rail cars at the scene.
