The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the drug leucovorin for the treatment of autism on Monday, coinciding with President Donald Trump’s announcement of several initiatives, including claims of link between autism and the painkiller Tylenol.

According to the Federal Register, the FDA authorized leucovorin, a concentrated form of folic acid. Folic acid is widely recommended for expectant mothers to support healthy fetal development.
