First public mourners file past Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin in Edinburgh

The first members of the public began paying their respects before the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, filing past the casket at Edinburgh’s St Giles’ Cathedral.

Four members of the monarch’s Scottish bodyguard, the Royal Company of Archers, stood heads bowed at each corner. Some people were in tears as they passed, television pictures showed.
