The GOP Oversight Committee for the US House of Representatives released emails from Anthony Fauci that suggest he may have concealed information about the origin of COVID-19. The emails have never been seen before, and they indicate that Fauci knew that the virus originated in a lab in Wuhan, China, where it was first detected.
GOP Oversight Committee: lab theory downplayed after Fauci emails
The GOP Oversight Committee tweeted a letter written by Representatives James Comer and Jim Jordan, who want Dr. Fauci to testify under oath about the emails.

In the letter, the GOP Oversight Committee requests a transcribed interview of Dr. Fauci, explaining that excerpts of emails it is making public today warn of the possibility that COVID-19 was leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The emails also warn that the virus may have been “intentionally genetically manipulated.”
Fauci’s claims
The letter also notes that Fauci was apparently aware of the monetary relationship between NIAID, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, EcoHealth Alliance, and the WIV even though he claimed otherwise on multiple occasions.
The GOP Oversight Committee also states that Dr. Fauci and at least 12 other scientists talked about COVID-19 on a conference call on February 1, 2020, and during that call, they learned that the virus may have been leaked from the WIV and intentionally genetically manipulated.
