Hong Kong, Shanghai stocks dive on Evergrande worries

Shares plunged in Hong Kong and Shanghai on Tuesday as investors turned their attention to the impact of a decision by a Hong Kong court to order the liquidation of the once-mighty Chinese developer Evergrande.

The Hang Seng Index sank 2.32 percent, or 373.79 points, to 15,703.45.

The Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.83 percent, or 52.83 points, to 2,830.53, and the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange tumbled 2.70 percent, or 44.28 points, to 1,593.12.
