Iranian media reports two killed in protest clashes in southwest

Clashes between protesters and security forces in southwest Iran killed two people on Thursday, according to the Fars news agency, the first civilians to die since cost-of-living demonstrations broke out over the weekend.

“The number of victims in Lordegan today amounts to two,” Fars said, after reporting clashes, stone throwing and property damage in the city about 650 kilometres (400 miles) south of Tehran.
