According to a government spokesman, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett was quarantined after his daughter tested positive for Covid-19.
Bennett’s wife and other children, however, tested negative, according to the statement, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
Bennett left a special cabinet meeting in the Golan Heights to enter quarantine after his 14-year-old daughter tested positive, according to Israel’s Ynet news.
Yifat Shasha-Biton, the Education Minister, was also quarantined on Sunday after her daughter tested positive.
Bennett was quarantined on December 14 after a passenger on his return flight from a historic visit to the United Arab Emirates tested positive for the virus.
The rapid spread of the Omicron variant has resulted in an increase in Covid-19 cases in Israel.
