Japan lifted a tsunami warning early Tuesday following a powerful earthquake that rocked the country’s northern coast, Kyodo news agency said.
Several waves of up to 70 centimetres (28 inches) were recorded by Japan’s meteorological agency prior to the tsunami warning’s removal.
