Japan Moon lander solar cells ‘not generating power’: space agency

Japan’s Moon craft landed on the lunar surface on Saturday and communications have been established, but its solar cells are not generating power, space agency JAXA said.

“JAXA confirmed that the SLIM landed on the Moon at 00:20 am on 20 January 2024 (Japan Time). Communication has been established since landing,” it said, but added that “the solar cells are not generating power”.
