Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said Monday she will affirm with US President Donald Trump the “unshakeable unity” of their two countries when the leaders meet next month in the United States.
“Regarding the meeting with President Trump, we will reaffirm the unshakeable unity between Japan and the United States, and further advance cooperation across a wide range of fields including diplomacy, economy, and security. Then we will open a new chapter in the history of the Japan-US alliance,” Takaichi told a news conference after winning a landslide election victory.
Trump, who visited Japan in October, said last week that Takaichi would visit the White House on March 19, endorsing her for the election as “a strong, powerful, and wise Leader, and one that truly loves her Country”.
