The Kremlin on Monday called for order to be restored in Burkina Faso after the leader of its ruling junta stepped down in the second military takeover in less than nine months.

“We would like the situation in Burkina Faso to normalise as soon as possible, for complete order to be ensured in the country and for a return to the framework of legitimacy as soon as possible,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press briefing.
