NATO must ‘turbo-charge’ defense to prevent war: Rutte

NATO chief Mark Rutte on Thursday issued a stark warning to “turbo-charge” defence spending, saying European nations need to do more to “prevent the next big war” as the threat from Russia grows.

“We are not ready for what is coming our way in four to five years,” Rutte said in a keynote speech in Brussels. “Danger is moving towards us at full speed.”
