Cyberattack hits Iran parliament websites: state media

Pharmacies across the US are facing delays in filling prescriptions due to a cyberattack on one of the country’s largest healthcare technology companies, Change Healthcare, Fox News reported. The company noticed the cyber security issue affecting its networks on Wednesday morning.

Nationwide pharmacies affected by cyberattack on Change Healthcare, alerts issued due to disrupted patient order processing

Change Healthcare is a company that manages orders and payments from patients across the United States.

“Change Healthcare is experiencing a network interruption related to a cyber security issue and our experts are working to address the matter. Once we became aware of the outside threat, in the interest of protecting our partners and patients, we took immediate action to disconnect our systems to prevent further impact,” Change Healthcare said in their official statement. “We will provide updates as more information becomes available,” the statement further stated.

Pharmacies nationwide have posted alerts saying that the cyberattack on Change Healthcare is causing problems with their ability to handle patients’ orders, according to Fox News’ report.

“We are experiencing a temporary pharmacy outage at the 22d Medical Group. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work diligently to resolve the issue. Our team is working to restore complete pharmacy services as soon as possible,” stated a post from the 22nd Medical Group, located near McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas.

“The estimated date for resolving this issue will be tomorrow or later. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on our progress.”

Major prescription processors facing outage due to cyberattack

On Wednesday, Canadian Lakes Pharmacy, based in Michigan, posted on social media: “There is a nationwide outage from some of the largest prescription processors in North America.”

The post further said, “We CAN receive your RX but MOST insurance plans we cannot bill to your insurance company. If you can wait a day or so to pick up your RX that would be great. If you need it today we can do our best to accommodate individual needs.”

The service disruption is anticipated to continue until tomorrow, but Change Healthcare has not provided a specific timeline for when normal service will resume. At the moment, there isn’t a publicly accessible report detailing the nature or source of the cybersecurity problem affecting Change Healthcare.
