The pound fell two percent against the dollar on Wednesday after British Prime Minister Liz Truss delivered a speech that failed to provide details about controversial budget proposals.

The pound slid as low as $1.1241, a drop of 2.01 percent, as the safe-haven dollar was also boosted by a switch towards risk aversion by investors.
