Russia has ‘just as many troops’ as before on Ukraine border: France

Russia has “just as many troops” on its border with Ukraine as before an announcement earlier this week that some were being withdrawn, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said Wednesday.

“It’s better than nothing, these are reconfigurations that have been announced, but… they have to be verified,” Le Drian told Senate lawmakers, adding that “there are still just as many troops, and manoeuvres are continuing”.
