Russia tested launched another Tsirkon hypersonic missile

The Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov successfully tested a Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missile from the Barents Sea, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to ministry, the missile hit a naval target about 1,000 kilometers away in the White Sea on Saturday, and the projectile’s flight parameters were met.

The Tsirkon missile has been fired from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate and a nuclear-powered submarine several times.

The Tsirkon missile, according to President Vladimir Putin, is capable of flying at Mach 9, or nine times the speed of sound, and striking a target more than 1,000 kilometers away.
