The United States targeted the operator of Russia’s Mir payment system and the country’s drone procurement network in a raft of sanctions unveiled Friday, ahead of the two-year anniversary of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
“To deny Russia the resources necessary to support its brutal war against Ukraine, Treasury is designating targets including a major cog in Russia’s financial infrastructure,” said the Treasury Department, which also took aim at over two dozen sanctions evaders in countries beyond Russia.
