German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Monday condemned as reckless US presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s threat not to protect NATO members who do not spend enough on defence.
“Let me clearly say due to recent developments that any relativising of NATO’s collective defence guarantee is irresponsible and dangerous and is only in Russia’s interests,” Scholz said after talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
