Sweden’s prime minister said Wednesday that following a request from Denmark it had sent officers to join a military exercise on Greenland, as US President Donald Trump has threatened to seize the Danish autonomous territory.
“Some officers from the Swedish Armed Forces are arriving in Greenland today. They are part of a group from several allied countries. Together, they will prepare events within the framework of the Danish exercise Operation Arctic Endurance,” Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said in a statement to X, adding the personnel had been sent “at Denmark’s request”.
