Taiwan detects ‘record’ 125 Chinese aircraft near island: defence official

Taiwan detected 125 Chinese aircraft near the island on Monday after Beijing kicked off military drills, a defence official said, describing it as a record for a single day.

“125 aircraft is indeed a record single day high we have observed so far,” Lieutenant General Hsieh Jih-sheng, a senior intelligence official in the defence ministry, told a press conference.
