Spanish infrastructure giant Ferrovial and Australian investment fund Macquarie said Wednesday they have agreed to sell the operator of three British airports to German airport management firm AviAlliance in a deal that values the firm at 1.53 billion pounds.

Ferrovial and Macquarie each own 50 percent of AGS Airports, the owner and operator of the main airports serving Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton which serve more than 10.8 million passengers annually.

The transaction, which is expected to close during the first quarter of 2025, values AGS Airports at around 1.53 billion pounds (1.84 million euros), Ferrovial and Macquarie said in separate statements.

The amount which each firm will receive will be determined once the sale of AGS Airports to Dusseldorf-based AviAlliance has been completed, the Ferrovial statement added.

Ferrovial, which specialises in transport infrastructure management, operates a vast portfolio of global assets, including airport interests in Turkey and New York.

The company announced in June the sale of the majority of its stake in London’s Heathrow airport to Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund PIF and French private equity group Ardian.
