Three of the parties in Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s coalition said Wednesday they would snub a confidence vote on his government, after fierce negotiations to find common ground failed.
The centre-right Forza Italia party, far-right League and the populist Five Star Movement told the Senate they would not vote, effectively cutting dead Draghi’s attempts to resolve a political crisis now expected to lead to his resignation and snap elections.
