Trump arrives at court for criminal trial opening statements

Donald Trump arrived Monday at a New York courthouse where prosecution and defense teams were set to present opening arguments in the former US president’s historic hush-money criminal trial.

Trump, 77, has been ordered by the judge to appear in the Manhattan court for the duration of the case, largely keeping him off the campaign trail for weeks as he challenges President Joe Biden for the White House in November’s election.
