US President Donald Trump hailed the 2026 World Cup draw on Friday as he arrived at the Washington venue for a ceremony that will map the path to victory for contenders at the 48-team finals.
“It’s a big day and it is a great sport, and it really is coming to America and nobody ever thought a thing like this could happen,” Trump said as the United States prepares to co-host the 2026 tournament with Mexico and Canada.
