US President Donald Trump on Tuesday hailed progress in trade talks with Canada, as he welcomed to the White House Prime Minister Mark Carney, who is seeking to ease steep US tariffs.

“It’s a natural business conflict. Nothing wrong with it,” Trump told reporters as he sat alongside Carney. “And I think we’ve come a long way over the last few months, actually, in terms of that relationship.”
