US President Donald Trump voiced doubt Monday that China would invade Taiwan, when asked about earlier Pentagon assessments that Beijing is eying 2027 to attempt to seize the self-governing democracy.

“I think we’ll be just fine with China. China doesn’t want to do that,” Trump told reporters as he met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
