Tucker Carlson Putin Interview Time: Exclusive Air Date and Viewing Details Revealed

Carlson recently traveled to Moscow for a historic interview with Vladimir Putin. It will be the first time the Russian president has spoken with a Western journalist since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Viewers can catch Carlson’s interview with Putin on Thursday, February 8th, at 6 p.m. Eastern Time/3 p.m. Pacific Time. It will be accessible exclusively to paying subscribers on his website, www.tuckercarlson.com.

Additionally, Tucker Carlson shared the news of Putin interview time via an Instagram post on Wednesday. He revealed that the interview will also be available on his website and later on X, where he hosts the show “Tucker on X.” Justin Wells, the head of programming at Carlson’s streaming network, has confirmed that the interview will indeed be made available today.

Carlson has remained tight-lipped about what viewers can expect when the interview airs. In a video posted on X about the interview announcement, he said: “Here’s why we’re doing it. First, because it’s our job.”

“We’re in journalism. Our duty is to inform people, two years into a war that’s reshaping the entire world. Most Americans are not informed,” he added. “They have no real idea what’s happening in this region, here in Russia or 600 miles away in Ukraine. But they should know. They’re paying for much of it in ways they might not fully yet perceive.”

He said that the way the US media talks about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been like “fawning pep sessions specifically designed to amplify Zelensky’s demand that the US enter more deeply into a war in Eastern Europe, and pay for it”.

Balanced interview?

The Kremlin has urged that Carlson’s interview is both balanced and fair, the Independent reported.

Putin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, informed reporters that Carlson was selected for the interview because “he has a position which differs” compared to other English-language media outlets.

“It is in no way pro-Russian, it is not pro-Ukrainian, it is pro-American, but at least it contrasts with the position of the traditional Anglo-Saxon media,” Peskov said, according to The Telegraph.

During his tenure at Fox News, Carlson has consistently shown an affinity for the Russian leader. The U.S journalisted questioned the legitimacy of US support for Ukraine following the Russian invasion. In 2022, following Putin’s invasion, Carlson openly questioned why he should oppose the move to annex parts of Ukraine. His viewpoints have often been featured in Russian state-run media.

Peskov also dismissed Carlson’s claim that no Western journalists had requested interviews with Putin. Instead, he stated that the Kremlin has received numerous requests from prominent Western television channels and newspapers.

Despite this, at least one EU lawmaker is advocating for a travel ban on Carlson due to his visit to Moscow and interview with Putin, Newsweek reported.
