Update: The issue has been resolved. Twitter service is back up and running now.
Something went wrong with Twitter and it’s completely down for users around the world. Twitter users are unable to load feeds. Breaking news from the world of social media confirms that Twitter is down. The most widely used social app is apparently “over capacitated” at the moment. A few minutes ago, Twitter seemed to have crashed for users around the globe. The exact reasons are unknown but it appears that the site could not handle the amount of online traffic.
Twitter is currently showing the following messages when someone is trying to send a tweet, “Twitter is over capacity” and “Something went wrong”. Downdetector, the service that shows real-time coverage for outage and connectivity issues on online platforms illustrates a hike in the number of reports regarding Twitter. Online outage trackers logged complaints about the issue from roughly 2:30 pm UK time (9:30 am ET).
