United Nations chief Antonio Guterres has cancelled his participation in this week’s Davos summit in Switzerland after coming down with a “bad cold”, a spokesman said Tuesday.
“The Secretary-General has unfortunately had to cancel his participation at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos,” UN spokesman Rolando Gomez told reporters in Geneva, adding that Guterres had been scheduled to speak on Wednesday, but now has “a bad cold” and will be leaving Switzerland instead.
