US President Donald Trump’s administration said Monday it was deploying 500 US Marines to Los Angeles in response to clashes between protesters and security forces over immigation raids.
“In light of increased threats against federal officers and federal buildings, 500 active-duty US Marines from Camp Pendleton will be deployed to Los Angeles to help protect federal agents and buildings,” a senior administration official told AFP.
