US dismisses Chinese call for Ukraine ceasefire as aid to 'Russian conquest'

The latest wave of US sanctions against Russia, announced on Friday, the one year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, include a crackdown on several European middlemen accused of helping resupply the Russian war effort.

“Dozens of entities and individuals being sanctioned today operate in industries that ultimately support Russia’s war against Ukraine,” the US Treasury said in a statement that detailed one of Washington’s biggest sanctions packages since the conflict began.
