Venezuelan authorities on Wednesday freed 21 “political prisoners”, including eight from the United States, reported the Coalition for Human Rights and Democracy, which handled their cases.

Maria Alejandra Poleo, one of the group’s lawyers, told AFP that so far there are “eight Americans and 13 Venezuelans,” including Luke Alexander Denman and Airan Berry, who were serving a 20-year sentence for a botched armed invasion into Venezuela in 2020.
