Washington on Thursday received Moscow’s written response to its security proposals meant to defuse the crisis around Ukraine, a senior US official.

The response was delivered to Ambassador Sullivan in Moscow, said a senior official speaking on condition of anonymity. The proposals put forward by Washington on January 26 rejected Moscow’s main demands, including a formal guarantee that Ukraine will not join NATO.
