Washington receives Russia’s response to security proposals: US official

US says 'nothing suggests' Iran improving treatment of women

Washington on Thursday received Moscow’s written response to its security proposals meant to defuse the crisis around Ukraine, a senior US official.

The response was delivered to Ambassador Sullivan in Moscow, said a senior official speaking on condition of anonymity. The proposals put forward by Washington on January 26 rejected Moscow’s main demands, including a formal guarantee that Ukraine will not join NATO.
