Melania Trump emphasized the need to “we need to uncover the truth” about the July assassination attempt on her husband, former President Donald Trump.

“The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience,” the former first lady shared in a clip posted Tuesday on her X account.

“Now, the silence around it feels heavy,” in a promotional video for her upcoming memoir, “Melania,” former First Lady spoke directly to the camera.

“I can’t help but wonder: Why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?” she asked.

Nearly two months ago, the former president was struck in the ear by a bullet during a campaign rally in Butler, Pa. The assassin and a rally attendee were killed in the incident.

In response to the shooting, lawmakers established a bipartisan House task force to investigate the security failures surrounding the assassination attempt.

Melania Trump addressed the shooting that injured the 45th president the day after it occurred, stating in a statement, “When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change.”

“I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband,” Trump said at the time.

In her video on Tuesday, Melania Trump expressed that she is still seeking answers.

“There’s definitely more to this story,” she said.
