YouTube “No Views” bug shows zero views on popular videos in search results

YouTube 'no views' bug

Over the last few days, YouTube users have noticed a strange bug where popular content displays “no views” on videos. This happens even when the videos already have real views. This glitch drew a lot of attention on social media and support forums. However, the YouTube teams acknowledged the issue and clarified that it is merely a display glitch.

YouTube Creators and Viewers Complain About the “No Views” Bug

The issue became popular on Reddit, where many users started posting about it. They complained that YouTube search results list videos that show “no views” even when they actually have views. One Redditor, Striking_Truth_3158, titled the glitch the YouTube ‘No Views’ bug. The user pleaded for the YouTube team to roll out a fix instead of terminating their channel.

“No views bug when searching YouTube videos; YouTube, please fix this instead of wrongfully terminating channels.”

Another redditor, MidgetofDoomAMS, shared a screenshot of an old PewDiePie video that, while having over 14 million views, appeared to have no views in the search results. He jokingly asked what exactly the bug is all about and why people are experiencing it even after 11 years. Many users under comments also acknowledged the display glitch. Some confirm that the bug is not limited only to mobile and PC users. Instead, the “no view” glitch also affects YouTube TV. Some also noted that the bug showing no views does not affect all videos in search. While some of the search results from the same searches appeared normal, others seemed to be broken.

Has YouTube responded to the Issue?

YouTube teams have officially acknowledged they are aware of the “no view” bug in the search page. They describe it as a mere display glitch that shows only on search results. They also assure that these do not affect the actual view of the videos in their post.

“We are aware of an issue where some videos are incorrectly displaying O or “no views” on the search results page despite having previous activity. Our teams are currently looking into this. Please be assured that this is a display error only; your actual view data is being captured and recorded correctly in the backend. We will provide further updates in this thread as soon as they become available. Thank you for your patience!”

Is the YouTube Bug Affecting Growth?

Even though the issue is a mere glitch that happens only during search results, it does not affect the actual video views. However, some YouTubers are still concerned about the bug displaying ‘no views’ on their video.

Many worry that potential viewers from search may be turned off by the “no views” label. Many argue that a video with no views in a competitive search list is much less likely to be clicked in a time when “social proof” drives clicks. This might drastically reduce the click-through rate (CTR) for some content being affected by the supposed YouTube No View Bug.
