Sam Brinton, the “nonbinary” activist who was tapped by Joe Biden for a key nuclear role before being fired for stealing women’s clothes, was arrested Wednesday night as a “fugitive from justice,” The Daily Wire reported Thursday.

According to police logs, he was arrested at his home in Montgomery County, Maryland, on Wednesday.

He is currently being held in jail without bond, The Daily Wire report says.

Sam Brinton was actually apprehended as a "fugitive of justice." He was arrested Wednesday night by Montgomery County police in Maryland.

The Daily Wire was told by a neighbor that “four unmarked police showed up last night, they would not let his spouse Kevin leave. After about an hour Sam Brinton was escorted out in handcuffs.”

According to Daily Mail, Brinton accepted a plea deal for one of the luggage thefts last month, but the felony case in Minnesota is still ongoing.

Brinton was accused in February by a female Tanzanian fashion designer based in Houston of wearing her custom designs that were packed in a luggage she reported missing in 2018. The case was referred to the FBI by Houston police.

Brinton’s hiring was proudly announced by the Biden administration as one of the first non-binary, LGBTQ government hires.
