Bolivia’s embattled president on Monday signalled dwindling patience for protests that have paralysed the country, taking a new step toward declaring a state of emergency that would allow the military to intervene.
For a month, protestors have marched and erected roadblocks that have brought the country near a standstill. Amping up his rhetoric Monday, President Rodrigo Paz said “narcoterrorists” were behind the protests, while warning their “days are numbered”.
