British minister’s wife says will pay UK tax on worldwide income

Akshata Murty, the wife of Britain’s finance minister Rishi Sunak, announced Friday that she will start paying UK tax on “all worldwide income,”  as controversy grew over her non-domiciled status.

Murty, daughter of Indian billionaire N. R. Narayana Murthy, said in a statement that she did not want her non-dom status to be a “distraction” for her husband.
