Also, the spokesperson added that the senior military officers of the two sides are presently meeting to reduce the tension in the air.

“Senior military officials of the two sides are currently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation, “

According to a tweet by Ajai Shukla, an Indian journalist and a retired Colonel of the Indian Army, this will be the first time since 1975 that a face-off between the two countries will be leading to casualties. Here’s what Shukla posted on his official Twitter account:

“BREAKING: Army to hold press conf at 2 pm. Reports of 3 soldiers killed in Galwan clash with Chinese. First LAC combat casualties since 1975. Time for the government to come clean and stop lying about “disengagement” and “mutual withdrawal”. A national crisis is no time for deception”

Indian Army Major is still in the Chinese Military Custody

In another report, there are claims that the Chinese PLA soldiers were able to capture over 50 Indian soldiers. Shortly after that, they released them, keeping an Indian Army Major in custody.

Let’s have a quick look at some of the reports so far about the Indian Army Major that’s being held in the Custody of Chinese Army:

According to reports on social media, about a dozen Indian soldiers were seriously injured during the violent face-off in Ladakh and there are also reports of Indian army officials being under custody of Chinese forces.

“BREAKING: Sources say at least 11 soldiers neutralized by PLA and a dozen critically injured. Chinese army also captured over 50 Indian soldiers but released them shortly after and kept a Major of Indian army in custody.”

According to an Indian Journalist in New Delhi, Aditya Raj Kaul:

Lots of speculation. What I know so far: 36 Indian soldiers reportedly were captured after violent clashes yesterday by China near LAC. Most returned. A Major and a Captain still in Chinese PLA custody. Negotiation underway at Major General level in Ladakh for their release.

According to another Twitter user MIQ:

“Reports of a higher casualty count of Indian Army soldiers eliminated by China in #Laddakh. The Chinese PLA also captured Indian soldiers and later after a white flag raised by Indians they freed them. One Hindustani Major is still in the custody of Chinese Forces in Galwan.”

How Did The Violent Face-off Start (China’s Side Of The Story)?

According to a report, China accused the Indian troops of crossing one of the disputed borders between the two countries. The Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian mentioned that the Indian troops crossed the disputed territory twice on Monday. They provoked and attacked the Chinese PLA soldiers, leading to violence face-off between the two countries.

“We again solemnly request that India follows the relevant attitude and restrains its front line troops,” he said. “Don’t cross the border, do not provoke trouble, do not take any unilateral action that would complicate the border situation.”

According to Lijian, China and India reached a positive consensus to settle the border tensions through diplomatic and military channels. However, the Indian troops yesterday shockingly violated the consensus. So, the Chinese PLA soldiers did what they could to protect the sovereignty of the country.

LATEST UPDATE: According to Indian journalists and local media reports, at least 20 Indian army officials are dead, 3 succumbed to bullet wounds, 45 have been captured with 25 of that number having been released, 135 Indian troops are injured with some at 303 field hospital and others at GH Leh.
