Digital Harbor High School on lockdown after report of armed person [UPDATE]

A report of an armed person at Digital Harbor High School in Riverside led to the school being under lockdown on Thursday morning.

Baltimore Police investigated the matter while officers were seen leaving the school grounds 30 minutes later.

“Digital Harbor High School is currently on lockdown. All students and staff are safe and secure. We will keep you updated once the lockdown has been removed. [Baltimore Police Department] are currently doing a search of our entire building to ensure that every space in our building is safe,” the district stated.

Digital Harbor High is located in Baltimore’s Riverside neighborhood that focuses on innovative technology education for approximately 1,600 students. Recently, the school system invested in metal detectors at all of the city’s high schools, including Digital Harbor.

UPDATE: Lockdown lifted at Digital Harbor High School in South Baltimore following a police investigation. The lockdown was placed after reports of an armed person.
