Ecuador and Costa Rica on Friday joined a growing list of countries recognizing Venezuela opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia as the rightful victor of a disputed presidential election in his country.
Ecuador’s presidency wrote on the X social network that Gonzalez Urrutia was the “legitimate winner” of the vote. For its part, Costa Rica’s foreign ministry said the opposition candidate was the “indisputable” winner.
