Last year in June, Twitter introduced the “Notes” feature, allowing users to write longer content on the platform. Initially, it was limited to users in Canada, Ghana, the UK, and the US. Twitter explained that “Notes” supported various formatting options and the inclusion of media such as photos, videos, GIFs, and tweets. It’s worth noting that this announcement preceded Elon Musk’s takeover of the company, and this is the first acknowledgment of the feature since then.

However, the release date for the “Articles” feature, as it is now called, remains uncertain.

This announcement comes at a time when Twitter is striving to retain creators amid growing competition from platforms like Instagram Threads. Twitter has even started sharing ad revenue with creators, resulting in some of them receiving significant payouts in the five-figure range. Many creators from around the world have shared their earnings through this new program. For instance, one creator received $37,050, another received $11,820, and one even earned $69,420 through the ad revenue program.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk shared data on the increase in “Total User Active Seconds” on Twitter, indicating a 3.5% weekly growth globally. Musk mentioned that platform usage has risen by 3.5% week over week. According to the data he shared, nearly 87% of active users access Twitter through mobile devices.
