Governor Ron DeSantis was involved in a car accident in Tennessee Tuesday morning, as reportedly said by his campaign press secretary, Bryan Griffin. The incident occurred while the governor was en route to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee, accompanied by his campaign team.

Fortunately, Governor DeSantis was uninjured.

According to a spokesperson from the Chattanooga Police Department who spoke to Fox News, the accident occurred on Interstate 75 south at approximately 8:15 a.m. The crash took place when the leading vehicle in Governor DeSantis’ four-car motorcade abruptly reduced its speed to avoid the traffic ahead, resulting in a chain reaction collision.

During the incident, a female staff member sustained minor injuries and received medical attention at a campaign event. As of now, an investigation is still underway to determine further details surrounding the incident.

“We appreciate the prayers and well wishes of the nation for his continued protection while on the campaign trail,” Griffin said in a statement.

Governor DeSantis has been actively traversing the country as part of his 2024 presidential campaign.
