NBC News reported that a Tennessee soccer coach was arrested after videos showing the rapes of 10 unconscious boys were found on his cellphone, which he had left behind at a restaurant.

After the news of Campos’s arrest became public, five more victims have come forward to report their experiences, the police tweeted.

Tennessee police found evidence of the rapes of 10 boys on the phone of popular soccer coach in Franklin

The 63-year-old coach, Camilo Hurtado Campos, is currently in custody at the Williamson County Jail, The Washington Post reported. He faces charges of raping a child and sexually exploiting a minor, as confirmed by police spokesperson Lt. Charles Warner.

In Tennessee, raping a child is considered a serious crime, classified as a Class A felony. It carries a minimum prison sentence of 25 years. Possessing more than 100 images or materials depicting a minor engaged in sexual activity is classified as a Class B felony under the charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.

For the last 20 years, Campos has been a resident of Franklin, a city located south of Nashville.

Authorities stated in a release that the coach would reportedly visit school playgrounds regularly, CNN reported. There, he would approach children and recruit them to join soccer activities. After gaining their trust, he would then extend invitations for them to come to his home.

“During off-hours, Campos frequented nearby school playgrounds in both neighborhoods where he approached kids and recruited them as players on his team,” police said. “After gaining their trust, Campos invited many of the kids to his home where he drugged and then raped them.”

Police found disturbing images and videos on phone

According to the police, the allegations came to light when restaurant workers found a cellphone that someone had accidentally left behind. In their attempt to locate the owner, they searched through the phone and came across deeply disturbing videos. They immediately contacted the police, who were able to trace the phone to the suspect.

The police stated that Campos had “recorded himself raping unconscious boys.” The victims were estimated to be between 9 and 17 years old.

As of now, the phone has revealed evidence of “at least 10 children” being subjected to rape, according to CNN. Detectives have successfully identified three of the victims, as confirmed by the police.

“Detectives say that the children in these videos were in such an unconscious state, that they might not even realize that they are victims,” police said.
