Among the names set to be revealed as associates of Jeffrey Epstein, “many are known and notable, including former Presidents,” NewsNation reports.

Judge allows for redaction of names of Jeffrey Epstein’s associates, including former president in lawsuit settlement

The list comprises both Epstein’s close friends and prominent figures. The judge has also permitted some individuals to keep their names concealed or redacted to allow them the opportunity to file an appeal and present their case.

A federal judge has directed the disclosure of a collection of documents revealing the identities of numerous associates linked to Jeffrey Epstein.

The order, issued by District Judge Loretta Preska on Monday, is part of a settled civil lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison last year for sex trafficking. During her criminal trial, prosecutors claimed she assisted Epstein in sexually abusing teenage girls over many years.

Judge Preska’s order to unveil some names emphasizes that several individuals have already spoken to the media or disclosed their names in other public court documents related to the case.

In instances where individuals didn’t object to disclosure or where the sealed material wasn’t sensational, the judge approved the release. However, names that could identify minors victimized by sex crimes were kept redacted.

Attorney reveals some individuals paying to stay off Jeffrey Epstein’s list

According to criminal defense attorney Josh Schiffer, individuals may be willing to spend a significant amount of money to avoid being included in the disclosed list.

“There’s a total of 187 listed names, but then there’s some duplicates in there, there are some minors, so those names aren’t going to be released, there’s some victims, those names aren’t going to be released, and we know that there’s at least one person who’s spent a lot of money to try to maintain their anonymity,” Schiffer said. “But a lot of the people on this list are people we’ve already heard.”

The civil lawsuit, initiated by Virginia Giuffre and resolved in 2017, asserted that Epstein and Maxwell coerced her into engaging in sexual encounters with influential men, including Prince Andrew. Denying the accusations, all the men involved, including Prince Andrew, settled the lawsuit out of court.

The allegations against Epstein became public in 2005 when he pleaded guilty to sex charges in Florida, serving 13 months in jail. A contentious deal, criticized for its leniency, allowed him to participate in a work-release program. Following his release, Epstein was obligated to register as a sex offender.
