Geopolitical tensions pose risks to global economic activity, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Thursday, adding that their economic implications “remain highly uncertain.”

“Speaking for myself, I found the attack on Israel horrifying, as is the prospect for more loss of innocent lives,” he told a conference in New York in prepared remarks.
